Re: Poetry section
Here is a SILLY poem that actually got published in a poetry book I couldn't believe it - I wrote it in middle school for a dumb assignment, then submitted it, and they actually published it... strange people.
Here it is, entitled "Green" - Enjoy!
quote:
Green is like a lean string bean,
Or the grass in the coming of spring.
In "Return of the Jedi," the dancing alien's skin,
And the color of your face when you drink rotten gin.
When you don't leave strawberries in the cold,
You'll later find a green batch of warm, fuzzy mold.
Green is often found in the interior of your nose,
Thus, do not attempt to clean your nostrils with your clothes.
Sometimes, when I eat some lettuce,
I'm unaware of the green in my front tooth crevice.

Re: Poetry section
i like your poem, steph, i also write about non casual themes!!!
BOOKS AND PEOPLE
Books and People
Both have a lot to say
many stories to tell
to sleep at night and to spend the day
They both have stories
to laugh and to cry
but books are eternal
and people eventually die
However some people
we will never forget
eternal like books
ready to be read

Re: Poetry section
TIME
I was body
without a soul
I was weak
I had no hope
Been through the desert
Had many a foe
Now I'm splendid
I live
to glow
I look behind and
See only sorrow
I just see despair
As I wanted to go
To live and to cease
The horrible blow
Now I see the wonderful
Smile of another morrow
Time mended my life
Yet it was slow
It lifted me up
When I was slow
Want some advice?
Don't wait for the flow
Stand up to your pains
They will make you grow

CREATING A POEM
I open the window
to see the sun rising from the mountains
I open the window
to see the birds flying in the sky
I open the window
to see the birds singing on the trees
I open the window
to see the wind blowing in my hair
I close the window
-This is getting boring-
I'm going to watch some T.V.!

Re: Poetry section
I have written a few dozen poems, i'll post a few if you don't mind.
Brain - Mind
Something capable of such wonder,
Can be caused such pain,
And then troubled by the slightest blunder,
What is the human brain?
Can think to the future or remember history,
For answers it wishes to find,
But how it works is still a mystery,
What is the human mind?
Full of imagination and endless construction,
But can be driven insane,
Then becomes full of thoughtless destruction
That is the human brain!
Although it’s possible to deceive,
It’s never totally blind,
And knows truly what to perceive,
That is the human mind!

Re: Poetry section
Hope this one isn’t too inappropriate?
Cannabis. Hit or miss?
Do you fly as high as the stars?
Or spend an abominable day on mars?
Cannabis, that hit or miss.
Does it rid your limbs of that excruciating pain?
Or offer no noticeable gain?
Does it shield you from the horrors of life?
Or make all those loathsome woes seem rife?
Does it make the night complete?
Or make you wither and bleat?
Does it make you feel totally alive?
Or make those evil notions thrive?
Does it make you relax, become at one with all?
Or get you to smack your head on a wall?
Cannabis, that hit or miss.
Do you sing with the angels?
Or dance with the devil?
