Books
I've decided to open this thread 'cause I've realized we don't have a topic about books and I know we have many "bookworms" here.
So,I hope you write about the books you like, the latest book you read and so on.

Re: Books
Currently reading some Harlequin romance trash, last hardback was 'State of Fear' by Michael Crichton, pretty good even though he's really just a hack IMHO, but he died last year so I shouldn't say anything bad about him...

Re: Books
Great idea babila.
I just finished reading the Southern Vampire Mysteries "Sookie Stackhouse Series" by Charlaine Harris. Great books! Fun, different and interesting! The new HBO series True Blood is based on these books.
I've just started the Twilight series. Just finished the first one and am now reading the second book New Moon. Enjoy these very much too!

Re: Books
Ok babila I really liked the first one, but I wish Edward was more in the second instead of Jacob.
The Sookie Stackhouse series is like the number 2 bestsellers here now. Very popular with the vampire thing now. Maybe, you'll find them otherwise you can order them on-line. If you liked Twilight, you'll probably like these too. They are for much older readers though, not like Twilight.

Mari, yeah, the second book wasn't so interesting for me.I prefer the third book "Eclipse".
Thanks for the info! I'll try to find them or searching on line
Judi, what's the name of the book?Since I was in Ireland this last summer too I'm curious.
I bought one about the Great Famine, quite interesting.

Re: Books
Ginny: Okay I will have to go home & find out the name of the Irish history book. Actually, what I am going to do is read it & let you know if it is worth it. Yes, the Great Famine was quite an episode in their country/history. So many of their men had to leave the country to find work. Irish Mary says that every time the economy goes downhill, and their men (& women also)leave the country, hearts of families are broken. They, like the rest of the world, are at this time experiencing economic woes because the manufacturing jobs are going to Poland. Labor is cheaper there now.
Did you buy your book on the famine from a large, three story book store in Dublin? If so, that is where Irish Mary's daughter works.
Yeah gads, no matter what chat thread I enter, I babble. Such fun.
